WordPress Now Powers More Than 50 Million Sites.

Open source blogging platform WordPress has reached an important milestone: It powers more than 50 million websites, about half of which are hosted on

Also, more than 287 million people view more than 2.5 billion pages on each month and, on an average day, users create about 500,000 new posts and 400,000 new comments, according to WordPress’ official stats.

Recently, WordPress competitor Tumblr surpassed 20 million blogs, passing in terms of the number of blogs hosted on the platform.

However, unlike Tumblr, WordPress lets users install and use the platform on their own web host. Due to the simplicity and versatility of the platform, WordPress isn’t only used to power blogs, it can also be used for running various types of personal, business and community websites.

The past decade saw a seismic shift in marketing communications as blogs, podcasts, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter led the media evolution. It’s an exciting time. In many cases the over-reliance on media and technology has shifted the focus away from the resolving the key (and usually tough) marketing issues necessary for growing a successful business.

The most successful companies and organizations (Apple, Google, Team Obama, etc) work with top, independent marketing firms and experts to help them develop and maintain a strong brand message realizing that the media and technology is only a tool to help them get their message out.


The Up Side of Down Times.

Economic downturns force paradigm changes, often for the better. To steal a line from Apple, it forces companies to “Think Different.” Business models that are smarter and more creative (and not necessarily bigger) are the ones that benefit in down times. Those that aren’t, die.
